Physical description

General illustration:spaces left blank for miniatures (11-12 ll.)
General decoration:f. 1r, decorated frontispice, the decoration runs along the bottom and the right margin, with multicoloured foliated motifs. The ruled space is framed by gilded, blue and red bars. The top half of the page was left blank for a miniature with a curved top margin. Col. a, decorated initial (4 ll. high), red with white touches on gilded ground - it is the only executed decorated initial of the whole MS. For this pattern, typical of Nothern and Eastern France in the 15th c., Lagomarsini 2014, 66-67 suggested comparisons with Van den Bergen - Patens 1989, pl. 2, 8, 13, 51. Blank spaces for decorated initials (2 or, les frequently, 3 ll., e.g. ff. 60ra, 63vb, 67va, 68rb ..., or 4 ll., e.g. f. 46va). In a few instances, the initials were drafted, more often at the beginning of the ms (e.g. 1vb, 2va, 3va ... until f. 8r, end of the first quire). In some cases, guiding letters are still visible (e.g. ff. 13v, 14r, 27v, 28r ...). Rubrics, although in some cases the ll. left for rubrics were not filled in (e.g. 53r-55r, 70v-93r...).
Evidence of readership:Drawings and sketches in plummet in the margins, e.g. f. 4r. At f. 108r, next to col. b, a contemporary hand wrote: "Co(mme) mons(ei)g(neu)r T(ri)stans seul remest en la for / perilleuse (et) trouue xxxvi ch(eua)l(ier)s / vanquist lun apres l'aut(re)."
Foliations description:Three foliations. The oldest, in pen, is occasionally visible (e.g. ff. 1r, 2r, 7r, 17r, 31r ... ). The most recent, in pencil, erroneously adds a unit (the total number of folios is 155 and not 156).
